Our guest speaker T.J. Sullivan shared tips on how to fight apathy in our organizations.
TJ opened his session with a little game of Heads or Tails and offered up 10 Greek Week points to whoever won! Congrats to Jackie Kossoff for winning it all for Phi Mu!

T.J.'s presentation urged us to change things up. Some of T.J's tips were:
- Recognize the people who DO come around, who DO show up and celebrate that!
- Always give an end time! When you're scheduling an event, meeting or otherwise, tell your members exactly what time the event will end and stick to it.
- Motivate the Middle!
- Don't complain that your members/organization is apathetic if you aren't doing anything that actually motivates them. Every one's different, what motivates you, might not necessarily motivate your friends.
Here are 5 things that do generally motivate college students:
- Competition
- Friends
- Cool experiences
- Guilty or duty
- Penalty
Greeks are really good at #4 and #5 but really that's only going to work for so long. So think about how you can motivate your members to come to event, meetings, community service days, sisterhoods/brotherhoods by utilizing what we know actually does work!
