Awards
Chapters receiving 70 to 79 total points are awarded with
the Orange Award. This year’s recipients
are: Lambda Chi Alpha (75 points) and Phi Mu (70 points).
The Chapters receiving 80 to 89 total points are awarded
with the White Award. This year’s recipient
is: Chi Omega (86 points).
Chapters receiving 90 to 100 total points are awarded with
the Purple Award. This year’s recipients
are Alpha Omicron Pi (91 points), Zeta Tau Alpha (96 points), Sigma Alpha
Epsilon (96 points), and Sigma Phi Epsilon (91 points).
Individual Awards
New Member Educator
of the Year award. This award is
presented to the chapter member responsible for new member education during the
2012 calendar year. The award goes to an
individual who made the new member class feel closer to the brotherhood and
founding principles known and practiced by every member, while teaching them
how to grow through their experiences in the Greek community. This
year’s recipient is: Alex Gregurich from Sigma Alpha Epsilon
New Member of the
Year award. This award is presented
to the new member who contributed most to the campus and Greek community. This recipient has shown continual enthusiasm
for his chapter and it’s growth while still devoting time and dedication to
academics and other organizations on campus such as: Concrete Canoe Engineering
Club and being the Freshman class’ Vice President . This year’s recipient is: Austin
Cibulka of Sigma Phi Epsilon
Each year, the Greek Awards celebrates the accomplishments
of collegiate members and leaders but it is also important to recognize the
many efforts of our alumni advisors. The
Advisor of the Year award is presented
to the advisor who has contributed to the success of the chapter and the
overall development of its members. The
recipient shows his constant dedication to the growth of each member and
passion for his fraternity through all he does on a local and national
level. This year’s recipient is: Dr.
Anthony Beavers of Sigma Alpha Epsilon
President of the Year. This award is presented to the chapter
president who has contributed to their chapter’s overall success and to the
betterment of the Greek community. The recipient
takes care to follow all standards and procedures of her sorority while still showing
her love and compassion to each member of the sorority and encouraging each
member to strive to reach their potential.
This year’s recipient is: Melanie Bacaling of Zeta Tau Alpha
Greek Man and Woman
of the Year. This award is presented
to the student who best represents our Greek community, their organization and
the University of Evansville.
The Greek Woman of the Year has shown her dedication to the
growth of members of her sorority as New Member educator and also contributed
to many others as a coordinator for UE Reads.
She has shown real growth through her time on this campus. This Year’s Recipient is: Lindsey Meyer of
Chi Omega.
Greek Man of the Year recipient has not only shown his
abilities within the Greek system, but also throughout the University of
Evansville and surrounding community. This recipient has shown great pride in
his fraternity and the University as a whole.
He not only took on crucial leadership positions within his fraternity
as the Recruitment Chair, but also founded another organization on campus:
Men’s Club Soccer. This year’s recipient is: Shaun Sizemore of Sigma Alpha
Epsilon.
