Final Recruitment Counselor Introductions

We're happy to share our final round of introductions this morning...just in time for our Greek Picnic this afternoon!

Name: Rachel Kohout
Year: Senior
Hometown: Morris, Connecticut
Major: Pre-Art Therapy

I am currently Panhellenic Council President and I'm thrilled to welcome you to our community!

UE Greek Life has allowed me to continue to stay involved on campus whether it is through leadership positions, participating and watching philanthropic events, or volunteering in our community. I have always been one to be constantly busy and UE Greek Life has allowed me to do that and still stay on top of my academics. All Greek organizations on UE's campus hold academics at a very high standard and that was a major part of why I joined UE Greek Life. But to be completely honest it was the ability for a group of people to take me in as family and push me to be my best that really had me when I joined.

Name: Kathy Cook
Year in school: Junior

UE Greek Life has given me the support of a family on campus, opportunities to help out the community, and has encouraged me to be more outgoing.

Can't wait to meet you!

Name: Hailey Craig
Year: Junior
Hometown: Evansville, IN
Major: Pre-Professional Exercise Science

Deciding to go through recruitment was one of my best decisions yet in college. Before coming to college, I had never thought of going through recruitment nor had any interest. Once college started, I saw that Greek life played a huge impact on our campus, so I gave it a shot. Little did I know Greek life would play such a role in my life. Not only have I gained life-long friendships that I will forever cherish, I have gained leadership qualities and am inspired to be a better person each and everyday because of Greek life. Going Greek could not have been a more perfect college decision for me!

And last but not least our fearless leader!

Name: Samantha Kosmer
Year in school: Senior
Hometown: Oshkosh, Wisconsin
Major: Elementary Education

Welcome to UE! I'm Sam and I am the Panhellenic Council Vice President of Recruitment! I'm so proud of our Recruitment Team this year and I hope you will consider going Greek!

Greek life has given me so many amazing leadership opportunities. I have been on the Panhellenic Council for 2 years and have been able to network with other Greeks from all over the country. I have grown so much as a leader, and a person, from the leadership positions I have held. I have gotten to know so many great leaders on this campus, and I don't think I would have gotten the chance to be such a leader in a community as great as this one.

Recruitment Counselor Introductions Continue

The Fall semester is quickly approaching and we're excited to introduce you to a few more members of our Recruitment Team!

Name: Tiffani Emery
Year in school: Junior
Hometown: Carterville, IL
Major: Mathematics Education

When I first learned about recruitment, I was excited about the opportunity to meet new people. What I thought was going to be just a way to make friends turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made during my college career.  I have made life-long friendships because of Greek life.  I met a community of women who accept and embrace me for who I am, and I can trust that they will be there to support me in all of my decisions. Greek life made my transition to college life easier, and because if it, I can call Evansville "home."

Name: Katie M. Schmidt
Year in School: Junior
Major: Nursing
Hometown: Mount Vernon, IN

Through UE Greek Life I have became a part of something far greater than myself. College is about trying new things and finding who you want to be in life. The Panhellenic community has allowed me to meet new people, try new activities and provide leadership roles that challenge me.  The accountability factor that a sisterhood holds outside of the home is astonishing! I have had the opportunity to develop bonds that I know I will forever hold and cherish. Without the support of my Sorority and Panhellenic women I know I would not be the young adult that I am today.

Current position: Vice-President of Inter-Greek Affairs

Name: Jackie Samyn
Year in School: Junior
Hometown: Crown Point, IN
Major: Psychology and Criminal Justice, minor sociology

UE Greek Life defies all stereotypes of Greek life, and we rise above the standard.  I am proud to be part of a group that so greatly impacts the school and community.  Greek students are leaders, and we strive as a group to be involved in activities, while also achieving high in academics.  As a member of Greek life, I am inspired to be a better person, especially with such a strong group of role models.

Name: Caroline Bartlett
Year: Junior
Hometown: Indianapolis
Major: Nursing

Greek life has provided me with a home away from home. I'm very close with my family, and therefore, leaving home was difficult. Not only do I have a large group of girls I call my sisters, but I also have a big sister and a little sister. This has been my family while at school. When academics become too much, I call my sisters, knowing they will always be there for me. Whether my big or little sister, or just girls in my year, my sisters have been my rock. They have helped make me who I am, and I think I'm pretty awesome! :P So I'm thinking it's worked out for the best.
